  3. Remove the skillet from the heat. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water.
  4. Toss the spaghetti in the skillet until it is well coated with the garlic oil. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  5. If using, sprinkle with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Serve the spaghetti aglio e olio immediately, while it’s still warm.
