These Pumpkin Scones with Maple Glaze are a delightful treat, perfect for fall mornings or anytime you’re craving a cozy baked good. The scones are wonderfully spiced and tender, and the maple glaze adds a deliciously sweet finish.

For the Scones:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream, plus more for brushing
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Maple Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead it a few times, then pat it into a circle about 1-inch thick.
  7. Cut the circle into 8 wedges and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each scone.
  8. Brush the tops of the scones with a little heavy cream.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
  10. While the scones are baking, make the maple glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Remove the scones from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  12. Drizzle the maple glaze over the warm scones.
  13. Serve the Pumpkin Scones with Maple Glaze and enjoy!
