Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups heavy cream

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water. Let it stand for about 5 minutes to soften.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the softened gelatin to the hot cream mixture and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the mixture into 6 ramekins or small bowls. Allow them to cool to room temperature.
  6. Cover the ramekins with plastic wrap and refrigerate the panna cotta for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  7. To serve, run a small knife around the edge of each panna cotta and invert onto a serving plate. You can also serve it in the ramekin.
  8. Top the panna cotta with your choice of fresh berries, fruit compote, or caramel sauce.
  9. Serve the Panna Cotta chilled and enjoy!
