Directions
- In a large bowl, combine 2 ¼ cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk, water, and butter until warm (not hot).
- Add the milk mixture and egg to the flour mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms. Add additional flour as needed.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and orange zest in a bowl for the filling.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle the filling mixture over it.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long end, and cut into 12 rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
- While the rolls bake, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest for the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over warm rolls before serving.
