Ingredients
For the Beef Marinade:
- 1 lb beef sirloin, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
For the Stir-Fry:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced (optional)
For the Salad Base:
- Lettuce leaves
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 cucumber, sliced
For the Dipping Sauce:
- Juice of 1 lime
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon crushed garlic (optional)
Directions
- In a bowl, combine the beef cubes with soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the dipping sauce by mixing lime juice, sugar, salt, black pepper, and crushed garlic in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Arrange lettuce leaves on a serving platter and top with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry quickly until browned and just cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. For the last minute of cooking, add the sliced onions and bell peppers.
- Place the cooked beef and vegetables over the prepared salad.
- Serve the Lok Lak with the prepared dipping sauce on the side.
